BEFORE/AFTER - BATHROOM

DISCLAIMER: Typically, we will be sharing work and progress from our clients’ homes. However, we thought we would kick off the blog by sharing Josh and Amanda (of RSW Building)’s experience in transforming their first house with good bones to a home they love!

“When we got the keys to our first home, we were ecstatic and uncontrollably documented every. single. detail. We recorded a video of our first walk-through with our pup, Luna, courageously leading the way in order to smell all the things. I don’t know why but for some reason I made an embarrassing comment as we passed by the bathroom, noting the poop left in the toilet by the previous tenants. It went a little something like this, “You see that poop in the toilet? THAT’S OUR POOP!” The joy of owning our own home was electric. We were even proud of someone else’s crap in our toilet. ROSE COLORED GLASSES, PEOPLE.

Our entire house was nasty - and the bathroom was no exception. We had some serious work to do, and our RSW team did not disappoint. We partnered with our incredible plumbing contractor, and Josh was meticulous enough to do all the tile himself. He also trimmed everything out, installed new cabinets and countertops, and topped everything off with a fresh coat of paint. It is amazing what can happen when vision and hard work come together. Our bathroom went from dirty, dark, and disgusting to clean, light, and fresh.

This is the space where we gave our newborn son his first bath and countless baths since. His laughter bounces off the walls as he plays and practices identifying his colors. We have spent so many hours in this bathroom, and I like think our son is just as happy with it as we are. Feel free to check out our bathroom’s transformation, but if you choose to stay, we ask that you please seat yourself.”
